Councillors have specific responsibility for: Amenities including allotments, Finance/General purposes, Planning & Highways. This covers amenities in the parish; problems that arise in the parish (especially with road defects) and all planning applications for the district are studied and commented upon by Council.
Representatives of the New Forest District Council and Hampshire County Council attend Parish Council meetings to report on District and County issues and to feed back any comments from the Parish Council.
The Parish Council has the power to issue grants to organisations who support the local community. These include Village Halls, Schools and local clubs. Grants can also be awarded to charities which work within the village community, see our grants policy for more information.
Councillors regularly attend external meetings in order to feed back any relevant information to the parish. These include; New Forest Association of Local Councils, The South East Quadrant, New Forest Consultative Panel and The Transport Forum.
